The Tower of Babel and the Twin Towers, 9/11 revisited

If we look carefully we will find that the present day United States of America and Babylon share a common history and destiny.

The Babylonians modified and transformed their Sumerian heritage of more than 5000 years in accordance with their own culture and ethos. The resulting way of life proved to be so effective that it underwent relatively little change for some 1200 years. It exerted influence on all the neighboring countries, especially the kingdom of Assyria, which adopted Babylonian culture almost in its entirety. One of the most important documents of this time is the remarkable collection of laws often designated as the 'Code of Hammurabi', which, together with other documents and letters belonging to different periods, provides a comprehensive picture of Babylonian social structure and economic organization.

The Americans modified and transformed their Anglo/Irish heritage with their own culture and ethos. They found this to be as effective as the Babylonians, and like them they it spread to countries all over the world. The basic difference being that the Babylonians were intelligent and they wrote the Hammurabi from scratch the Americans punched together the Bible, Declaration of Independence and their Constitution. While the Babylonians lasted for many centuries hopefully the American way of life will not last that long. The American culture was to worship money, and that the ends justified the means in this goal.

The events leading to the invasion of Iraq brings us back to the land of Babylon and the classic story from the Old Testament of the Bible, the people of the Earth were building a colossal staged temple-tower or multi-storeyed ziggurat - that would reach heaven. Similarly the Americans built skyscrapers in the same belief. Actually, the purpose of the tower was to provide a common religious center as a rallying point, lest the people be scattered. The builders of the tower were in open defiance of God's command. In Babylonian times the religion was the constitution, and the Americans were concerned that if the people were would spread out and they would not have control over their minds and hearts, the McCarthy's would not thrive, weeding out people because they did not believe in the American dream.

In the ninth chapter of Genesis, according to the bible by which the Americans swear by, God commands Noah and his sons to "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth" . On the fifth day of the creation of the Earth, God gave this command to the birds and fishes. On the sixth day, God reiterated this command to the pinnacles of creation, man and woman. Humanity was to subjugate the untamed Earth by dispersing themselves.

The builders in Shinar banded together for a common ecumenical purpose. The American builders built their buildings as a temple to their ecumenism, greed and money where the other human qualities such and compassion or the need to help each other found no place.

The entire tenth chapter of Genesis contain the Table of the Nations. All of the people alive at the time of Babel were descended solely from the three sons of Noah. Consequently, Shem, Ham and Japheth are the fathers of modern civilization. The Americans in their misguided vanity believed that the only those who were descendants of their so called Pilgrim fathers were worthy. Genesis 10 is specifically written to demonstrate that all humanity descended from these three men (146). As Noah was a virtuous man in the eyes of God, it is reasonable to presume that the commandments of God were passed on to his sons. The pilgrim Fathers were mainly destitute, criminals and people who could not succeed in their own country, so we can safely believe that these qualities were passed down to their children.

These were the people who gave smallpox infected blankets to the native Americans, in the hope that they could wipe them off the face of the earth. These were the people, who because of their mastery over killing machines committed genocide and the few surviving native Americans were herded into reservations, read concentration camps. Till this date their holy places have been desecrated, and they have been reduced to alcoholism and gambling.

In Babylon slaves were the property of their master, like any other chattel. They could be branded and flogged, and they were severely punished if they attempted to escape. On the other hand, because it was to the advantage of the master that the slaves stay strong and healthy, they usually were well treated. Slaves even had certain legal rights and could engage in business, borrow money, and buy their freedom. If a slave married a free person and had children, the latter were free.

The sale price of a slave varied with the market, as well as with the attributes of the individual; the average price for a grown man was usually 20 shekels of silver, a sum that could buy some 35 bushels of barley.

With a difference of several thousand years you cannot see any difference between American slavery and the Babylonian one, however if you look carefully you can see a major difference, the Babylonian slaves could become free if they married a free person, in America they never had the chance to become free.

Even with the so called abolition of slavery the African American, and Blacks from any country and subjected to humiliation and arbitrary police action, beatings and economic depression.

The worst violations of human rights, originates in the United States of America. Lynching the killing without due judicial process is American.
Thousands of people because of the political beliefs hounded down during the McCarthy era.

People of Japanese descent living in America rounded up and put into concentration camps, wives separated from their husbands, children from their parents, not because anything they had done was wrong, but because of their race, during the second world war.

The only nation till date that has used Atom Bombs on innocent civilians defying all tenants of war and human behavior in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Shoot workers fighting for their rights in Chicago leading to the celebration of May Day.

To avenge the killing of three thousand Americans on 9/11 they have killed more than 7000 innocent Afghan civilians who probably did not even know that a city called New York existed.

The abuse of Prisoners in Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay show the moral and sexual depravation of the Americans.

The Tower of Babel became place of degeneration. A place where money was worshiped, where lust and debauchery was rife. In the Old Testament it is said that Ruler of Babylon was reveling with wine and woman when a writing appeared on the wall, the ruler could not understand the meaning so he called Daniel who read the writing and told the ruler that he would soon have to face the wrath of God with the destruction of the tower.

The American towers are also the seat of unbridled capitalism where only money is worshiped with all its attendant evils. Maybe the destruction of the twin towers was writing on the wall. George W. Bush being the moron that he is, did not understand it..

It is an ill abode that George W. Bush took the Americans to war in Iraq where the first tower was destroyed and maybe the writing on the wall for the Babylonians will become the writing on the walls for the United States of America.

Babylon was destroyed by an invasion from the east and maybe the same fate awaits the Americans.
