National News Service (Kolkata, Feb. 16, 2005): The pseudo intellectuals of India have struck again. The bleeding hearts like Medha Patkar and Arundhuti Roy are crying their hearts for S.A.R. Geelani, a Muslim fundamentalist, and so called professor of the University of Delhi. If there was any genuine case of somebody deserving to be locked up in Guantanamo Bay, it is he.
The lower courts found him guilty and condemned him to death in the Parliament attack case, but the High Court in all its wisdom decided to set him free and that decision is under appeal in the Supreme Court. All the courts in India only give the death sentence in the rarest of rare cases. The lower court found it fit to pass the death sentence. If the case is totally wrong then there is a serious flaw in the judicial system, an innocent man was being sent to the gallows, or if he is found innocent because it serves the cause of pseudo secularism that too is wrong. We await the verdict of the Supreme Court to see where the truth lies.
Geelani gets shot; the pseudo intellectuals like Arundhuti Roy come out with their guns blazing. Their hearts bleeds for a person who openly preaches fundamentalism bordering on treason. The media with nothing better to do, and trying to possibly increase their circulation or viewer ship, with a particular community come up with weird conspiracy theory that the Delhi Police was behind the shooting and Ms Roy gets her publicity the main reason for her antics.
This Ms Roy is the same person who when faced with a short Jail sentence to stand up for her convictions she choose to give an unqualified apology and pay a fine. For a few days she regaled in the publicity, and possibly it is all that she cares for.
Compare her to Ward Churchill he wrote an article, where basically he blamed 9/11 on the Americans for their past sins. When faced with death threats, and the possibility of being forced to resign from the University of Colorado he did not wilt. He remained defiant and stuck to his writings. Ms Roy that is called the courage of your convictions.
Has Ms Roy ever visited the camps where the Kashmiri Pundits driven out of their homes live in despair and squalid conditions? Did she visit the homes of the Policemen and members of the paramilitary forces who were killed in the line of duty defending the parliament? Has she visited the homes of the soldiers killed in Kashmir? These visits do not generate publicity so she stays away.
Has Ms Roy spoken about the Hindus who have been driven out in droves from Bangladesh, has she ever talked to them about the atrocities they faced in Bangladesh. Yet when the Shiv Sena drives out the Muslim Hordes who have descended from Bangladesh, and humanely send them back to their Country these intellectuals go into overdrive.
Ms Roy and her fellow leftist intellectuals only like the publicity in the urban areas. The leftists have always verged on being traitors to the country. They opposed the freedom movement because their masters in Moscow told them to do so. To them Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was a traitor. They applauded the Chinese invasion in 1961 because to them China is more important than their own Country. It then only expected that their hearts bleed when an accused traitor is shot at.
Has it occurred to them that Geelani stage-managed his own shooting? Probably in his own heart he knows that he is a traitor and has done this to gather sympathy, and put off the hearings in the Supreme Court. This theory is as plausible as the theory that Delhi Police shot him. Why was he initially refusing to talk to the Police? He was probably scared that his staged managed shooting would come out into the open.
Unfortunately India has become highly populated with these self-serving publicity hunting beings.
We do not find any statement from her when the Muslim Clerics reiterate that the fatwa against Salman Rushdie is still valid, we do not find any statement from these pseudo leftist people when Taslima Nasreens’ book is banned because of pressure from Muslim fundamentalists. Where were they when Muslim painters depict Indian goddesses in the nude? What was their hiding place when the Muslims went berserk because an American Ambassador named a cat?
Unfortunately because of a succession of inept and weak Governments at the center these leftist intellectuals are spreading like cancer and destroying the minds of the younger generation. They raise a hue and cry about saffronisation, but we are all blind the blatant distortion of history of the leftist historians in the guise of intellectualism.
Our effeminate Sardarji to retain his power has allowed these leftists to infiltrate into all the walks of life and pollute the truth. What the country does not realize that these are sleepers being put into place to destroy the Country when they will be activated. This was the policy of the erstwhile Soviets who placed sleepers in Western Countries so that they could activate them when they deemed it necessary.
We do not need the ISI of Pakistan to destabilize our country the leftist intellectuals will do the job from within, with the help of the Muslim fundamentalists.
Recently there was a procession organized in Kolkata by Muslim fundamentalists, the slogans they were shouting was that they want reservation in the police and armed forces. They were not asking for Government Job reservation they were very specific about police and armed forces. Let every right minded Indian think for a minute what this means.
