National News Service, Kolkata: Nero played the fiddle while Rome burnt, the Hindus in India have gone into the same mode. Self destruction seems to be the byword for Hinduism today.
The census of India figures based on religions makes alarming reading. The data on religion was collected during the 2001 census, and it is compared with the 1991 figures. During this period the Hindu growth rate declined from 25.1 percent during 1981-1991 to 20.3 percent between 1991-2001. The Muslim growth rate, on the other hand has increased from 34.5 per cent between 1981-1991 to 36 per cent in 1991-2000.
The population profile in 2001 for 102.8 crore Indians was Hindus 82.7 crore, constituting80.5 per cent, the Muslims were 13.8 crore or 13.4 percent of the population, Christians followed with 2.4 crore, Sikhs with 1.9 crore, Buddhists with 79 lakhs, Jains 42 lakhs and tribal and other religions with 66 lakhs.
The above figures do not include the hordes of Muslims coming into India from Bangladesh and spreading out throughout India. This infiltration goes unchecked so that the Marxists can survive, and use them as a reliable vote bank.
800-900 years ago Hindu religion held the sway from Afghanistan to Indonesia. The magnificent temples in Angkor Vat in Cambodia were built for Hindu gods, even today the Hindu religion survives in Bali, but the Hindus are a threatened lot in India because of the politics of religion played by our petty politicians whose short term goals and personal gains are undermining the most ancient religion.
When will the Hindus arise from their lethargy and take corrective measures. Secularism is the separation of the State and religion, and not the politics of vote banks as practiced in India.
Let us look at some of the antics that is destroying the Hindus like a spreading cancer.
On Kali puja day goats are sacrificed by beheading by one swift stroke. Recently it has become fashionable for so called animal activists to target this practice and hold demonstrations. Where are these woolly eyed activists when on Barkr Id thousands of animals ranging from chickens to camels are slaughtered by having their throats slit and bleed to death.
The Marxists and the Judiciary are alarmed when Hindus take out peaceful processions with Skulls and Trishuls, but where are they when during Muharram, when Muslim youths rampage on the streets with unsheathed sword. Praveen Togadia is jailed for distributing Trishuls which are so small that they could not harm an insect, and yet where are the swords stored or come from that are used during the Muharram.
During the Pujas the Marxists and their Police become ever so strict that Pandals do not encroach on public roads, the Puja committees are threatened with the entire might of the Indian Penal Code, and yet every Friday public thoroughfares are blocked for prayers by the Muslims and nobody is concerned.
During Kali Puja and the Durga Puja the Pollution Control Board becomes hyperactive to control noise pollution, Judges of the High Court initiate contempt proceedings for the violations of Court orders, and yet despite existing High Court orders the Mosques continue the use high powered loudspeakers. Where is the Pollution Control Board and the enforcers of the law.
Everybody is concerned about the victims of the Gujarat riots, it is universally right that nobody should be killed for their religious beliefs, but we have fools like Laloo Yadav out to prove that Godhra did not happen. Morons like him probably think that the Hindu lives have no value. Marxist goons can brazenly kill and maim Hindu priests and priestesses in broad daylight and yet they compare Gujarat to a Holocaust.
It would appear to a casual observer that the Hindus have taken leave of the senses and are determined to self destruct and stand as passive bystanders while the politicians use Religion as a pawn in the little games they play to line their pockets and stay in power.
We have created a Madrassa Education Board, public money is pumped into the system, and it is widely accepted that these schools teach bigotry and are in urgent need of modernization, and yet no action is taken. The Ananda Marg movement have a highly developed school system, and so does the Ramkrishna Mission movement, and yet it is the endeavor of the State to denigrate, and infiltrate these schools to cause their downfall.
The Marxists line up to send their children to Christian Missionary Schools but will not send them to Hindu schools. If the Madrassa can get public funds why should we not set up a Gurukul form of education. Why should we not actively develop Hindu religious schools where students can get modern education and be taught the Hindu religion at the same time. Modern education and and the Hindu religion are complementary.
If the Jews can revive the Hebrew language, the Muslims Arabic/Urdu why cannot we revive the Sanskrit language, a Mother to many modern languages.
The Hindu religion can only survive if we teach our Children the greatness of our religion, like the Muslims and Christians do, The Religion cannot develop itself using violence but has to have its roots in education. It is also time for the woolly eyed activists to retire to the forests and meditate on their actions and only come out when they are ready to fight all evils and not only select ones which are easy targets because the Hindu religion does not preach violence.
