Come, Come, Sit Beside Me

|

"In the silent hours, in the core of my heart,
Who keeps calling me in the language of songs?
He says, come, come, sit beside me.
Why do you remain away at this odd hour?

So much time has passed away.
Many a crimson dawn, many a radiant evening,
Vibrating with the surging waves of life, have passed away.
How is it that You did not come, did not sit beside me?
Why did You not respond to those who really long for Your response?
O Lord who has gone afar, with that magic You bind
me today with the bond of flowers.
I am baffled about what to do now.
I have decided to garland You."
