National News Service, Kolkata: The global warming and the level of hypocrisy seem to have a direct correlation. As the number of cyclones, tsunamis, and earthquakes and other natural or man made calamities increase the level of hypocrisy among the world leaders has increased.
This week we read that the search for weapons of mass destructions in Irak has been terminated without any such weapons being found. George (Moron) Bush and Tony (Poodle) Blair had declared that Saddam Hussein was armed to the teeth with weapons of mass destruction, Tony (Poodle) Blair that it would only take 45 minutes for Saddam to use his weapons. The house slave of George (Moron) Bush, Colin Powell put up a stirring performance in the United nations Security Council, with pictures and maps showing all the weapons ready to be launched. The question that should be addressed to Colin Powell is whether lying comes to him naturally or he rehearsed these lies.
The unfortunate aspect is that the number of morons in the United States has grown to such an extent that George (Moron) Bush got re-elected and the number of dog lovers will probably get Tony (Poodle) Blair re-elected too.
The western world in their usual underhand manner welcomed the death of Yasser Arafat, as heralding a new era in the Middle East. Yet why is the world again being duped by this western hypocrisy. It was not Arafat who was the reason for the intifada, it was Ariel Sharon. It was not Arafat who had a policy of assassination, it was Ariel Sharon, it was not the Palestinians whao shoot teen aged boys and girls first, they do so in retaliation. It is not the Palestinians who stole land to make settlements. It is not the disappearance of Arafat which will make the world a better place it is the disappearance of Sharon that will do it.
One of the main aspects of Indian Prime Ministers since independence is that they are like jellyfish or octopuses, They have no backbone and yet they have a deadly sting. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds. Nehru economically destroyed India, and this nation even after 60 years is still trying to recover from his misguided policies. He set up behemoth units which gobbled up the countries reserves in terms of revenue and resources, and in return gave nothing back to the nation, except for unbridled corruption. He refused to give real independence to the people of India by giving us a copied constitution not taking into the culture, history and aspirations of the common people. He saddled India with the worst vestiges of the colonial rule, the bureaucracy. He allowed the division of India to satisfy his own personal ambitions, and laid down the seeds for India to become a second Muslim nation by his misguided secularism.
Yet today we treat him a like semi god and his dynasty thrives.
His successors were jelly fish except perhaps Mrs. Indira Gandhi, who despite breaking up Pakistan, and bringing a slight recognition to India on the International stage, in India institutionalized corruption, and drove the last nail into the coffin of the Indian Constitution, and gave a new meaning to the saying that the end justifies the means. Then after a few non-entities came Atal Behari Vajpayee, the Nation hoped that something new would come about but instead we got a man whose hypocrisy and cynicism were the only qualities. He did not hesitate to have a thousand or so of our valiant soldiers killed in Kargil and in the grand mobilization to save his throne and, and when he found it expedient he went and embraced the enemy.
To win he became a Hindu fundamentalist and to retain his seat he tried to become a Mullah, but by a stroke of luck in a short period of sanity the people of India got rid of him.
His successor Manmohan Singh projected as the only economist in a population of one billion. His shyness only a facade to hide his desire to retain his seat. The communists under Jyoti Basu, and man with hypocrisy carved into his DNA , systematically destroyed the economy of West Bengal, corrupted the bureaucracy and in short a state level Indira Gandhi shod of the positive qualities, is now talking big on the national stage, and Manmohan to retain his seat plays along with him. The Prime Ministers hypocrisy went overboard with his lavish praise of the present Chief Minister of West Bengal. A man who single handedly has destroyed the Police, and turned them into toton macuts of Haitian fame, called Jyoti Basu corrupt in a veiled manner and when he felt cold in the wilderness came running back to Jyoti Basus's corrupt warm laps.
A communist who all of a sudden sees light in unbridled capitalism. He feels proud that Premji gave him a certificate. Why would not this capitalist sing praises to the Chief Minister. He is dishing out public land to them as if he is the Jamindar of the whole State and like the Jamindars, who dished out land to his concubines he is doing the same to capitalists. Further where would Premji find a Chief Minister preaching a work culture of working 10-12 hours a day for pittance without protest. Having brought the people of the State down on their knees without jobs or social security they are accepting these conditions without protest for survival at any cost is a basic instinct of all animals.
The prize would probably should go to Jayalalitha the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. A woman, whom we are led to believe, has so much acumen that it leaves behind all fairy tales of rags to riches. Not content to have become one of the richest persons in India, she has set her sights on grabbing the wealth of the Kanchi Mutt.
She knows that the hypocritical and impotent government in the center will not stand in her way, and in the knowledge that Hindus are easily cowered has started the process of take over.
We were always led to believe that the Police investigate and gather evidence and when this evidence is sufficient for prosecution they arrest the person. In India where everything is corrupt and laws are meant to be flouted, principally by the Government. The Police at the behest of the Politicians arrest the person first, then they make up the case with blessing of the judiciary. The judiciary determined that Jayalalitha was corrupt when she was out of power, as soon as she comes back to power she is pure as the driven snow.
Why are the Bank accounts of the Mutt frozen. How do 183 accounts relate to the murder case. How is it that as soon as the Shankaracharya is released on bail the police stumble on evidence to arrest the Junior seer. The police in India would put the Haitian Police under Papa to shame, but why are the other arms of the constitutional agencies playing along. The main question is why the people of India have turned into robots only content in eking out a living.
We really have to wonder if this is the same country that gave birth to the revolutionaries who gave their lives for the Indian Independence.
