Dilip Chatterjee (National News Service), Kolkata 21st February 2005: The Indian Marxists particularly the CPI(M) and CPI are now determined to infiltrate the UPA Government led Central Administration. The Congress Party which leads the UPA is now dependent on the Marxists, because they have 60 MP's in the Lok Sabha. After the defeat of the BJP led NDA in the general elections the Marxists had major electoral gains from West Bengal, Kerala and Tripura.
The Marxists formed a co-ordination committee with the UPA at the national level and maintained outside support to the UPA Government, in the name of secularism. Sitaram Yechury of the CPI(M) and A. B. Bardhan and D. Raja of the CPI maintain close contact with the UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and influences her to further the Indian Marxists agenda of Government policy and administrative matters.
Indian Marxists were planning to infiltrate several key ministries of the UPA led Government including the Human Resources, Information and Broadcasting, Culture, Social Welfare and the Planning Commission. Several RSS baiter's, Marxist and secular intellectuals, are now placed in key positions of several ministries. The Marxists targeted principally to infiltrate the Prasar Bharati, Film Censor Board, Press Information Bureau, News section of Doordarshan and All India Radio, National Human Rights Commission and the Women's Commission, UGC, IIAS, and several other Central Government organizations.
Several Ministers of the UPA Government, mainly Human Resources Minister, Arjun Singh, Information, Broadcast and Culture Minister S. Jaipal Reddy opened up their Ministries for large scale Marxist infiltration on the bogey of secular culturalism, and at the same time led a witch hunt for perceived Sangh Parivar supporters. Interestingly the Marxists now enjoy administrative and political power without joining the UPA ministry.
The CPI(M) and CPI top leaders are now planning the infiltration program in the Union Home Ministry and several Government intelligence agencies. In West Bengal and Tripura the Marxist led State Governments have politicized the Police and the Bureaucracy. In the last 28 years rule without any major opposition. Political observers feel the Marxist are now eying the South Block.
The Political observers are now thinking that the Marxists might not continue their support to the UPA Government and secretly hatching plans for a third front Government at the Center. It is true that the CPI(M) top leaders know differ on several key issues, including the pulling down of the UPA Government. Party hardliners like Prakash Karat, and his supporters blamed the UPA Government of following the same economic policies of the NDA government, under pressure from WTO, World Bank, IMF and the US Administration.
