The tense standoff regarding the eviction of the squatters on both sides of the Rail line in the Dhakuria area of South Calcutta ended with the police retreating without evicting the squatters.
The Trinamool Congress was out in force with all the leaders such as Mamata Banerjee, Pankaj Banerjee, Saugata Ray and Sovandeb Chattopadhyay and others.
The eviction process will now revert back to Calcutta
High Court.
