N.N.S. Kolkata, 20 September 2005:The Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industries has ushered a new era with the election of its first Begali lady President, on the occassion of its 118th annual general meeting, held at Kolkata today. Mrs Nayan Tara Pal Choudhury will function as the president for the coming year.

N.N.S. Kolkata, 20 September 2005: The world Bengali conference was held in Kolkata, at the Calcutta University, Darbhanga Hall on 19th September 2005 in the evening. Dr. Protap Chandra Chandra, eminent educationist presided over the meeting. Mr. Shyamal Kumar Sen, retired Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court was present as guest in chief.. The renowed Bangladeshi poet Mohammed Abdul Khaleq demanded Bengali should be introduced in United Nations as an official language.
He said that terrorism, fundmentalism and communalism is the arch enemy of the entire Bengali Community in the whole world
Guwahati (NNS): The former Assam chief minister Mr. Prafulla Mahanta, who was recently expelled from the Asom Ganaparishad, floated a new regional party under name and style of Asom Ganaparishad (progressive) following a day long meting of his supporters in Guwahuti on 14th Sept.
Leading out the resolution of the new party meeting in Guwahati, the former Assam minister and Hardcore Mahanta supporter, Mr. Gunin Hajarik said they had dicided to name the new party as AGP (P).
National News Service, Kolkata, 14 September 2005: Mamata Banerjee led a huge rally today in Kolkata. It is estimated one lakh (100,000) Trinamool Congress supporters joined todays "Maha Michil" (Grand Rally) which originated from Raja Subodh Mallick Square to Dharmatolla in Central Kolkata.
