You Have Stolen My Mind

|

"You have come, You have stolen my mind.
You have made me forget all the worries of my life
In the stream of ideation, day and night.
You have woven the garland of song with Your melody.
With the touch of Your divine life, even the burning of
meteors is as soothing as sandal paste to me.
Desert thirst is quenched forever by the cool green
shade of Your divine life.
Today all the pains and agonies of my life are like a
basket of soft flowers.
I wait and wait and look within, and I discover all
pleasant pains of my heart --
That You pour forth Your profuse love into me.

You Know How to Love the World

|

In the new day, in the crimson radiance,
With the rhythm of forms You entered my mind.
You know how to make us laugh,
You know how to make us weep,
You know how to play hide-and-seek.
Today You came to fill my life
With Your rays of radiant light.
You know how to play the lyre,
You know how to weave endless melodies,
You know how to make the world dance.
In Your melodies and rhythms
You know how to love the world
In all its pains and pleasures.

We want Freedom!

|

To those who think cruelty is brave, I say it cannot be.
You and I must not allow our neighbours' homes to be attacked.
Whatever their religion, they are our neighbours.
We live together in this country.
My sisters, listen!
Wherever there is a riot, we women must stand against it!
If the lower castes, Muslims, aboriginal peoples, the oppressed
were all united together, we would outnumber them!
Brothers and sisters, I'll end with this call.
All women with one slogan -
Humanity is our religion!
Indian women say no! Rivers of blood won't flow!
Indian children say no! No one's blood need flow!
We want freedom! Freedom from rape,
Freedom from religious hatred, freeom from atrocities!
Freedom from sexual harassment, freedom from the police!
Freedom - we want Freedom!

Tolerate No Injustice!

|

Awake, my sister,
Come with us.
Listen to what I say -
Tolerate no injustice!

Who's the first to rise at dawn?
Who fetches the water
And sweeps the floor
And lights the stove
And looks after the children
And cooks the food?

Awake, my sister,
Come with us.
Listen to what I say -
Tolerate no injustice!

Now this woman who wakes
Will not be afraid of men,
Will not fear governments,
Will fight every injustice!
United with those who toil,
She'll transform society,
Holding in her hand
The banner of liberation!

Awake, my sister.
Tolerate no injustice!

Song of Liberation

|

Someone has come and whispered into my ears,
"The new dawn will come!"
Beyond the curtain of darkest mist
New golden light will laugh.
No more agony and lamentation,
No more tears flowing from the eyes.
From beyond the scope of all pain,
The freshness of life will float anew.
The realm of affection and compassion
Of hope and love and sweetest dreams
Will enter the inner core of all minds,
Will remove the blackest shadows of darkness.

Liberation

|

"Along a straight path I move ahead.
I want to speak directly --
Not pointless, meaningless words.
In the sky there is a play of rainbow colours.
On earth a festival of kaleidoscopic light.
All this I must preserve.
Form, taste, smell, all treasures of earth -
To maintain them pure and undefiled,
Let us come and work together
Hand in hand.
